3. Engagement & Agreements

All service engagements require a signed service agreement or contract prior to commencement of work. Verbal agreements are not binding. Service agreements will specify scope of work, fees, payment terms, and any applicable limitations.

We reserve the right to decline any engagement at our sole discretion, including but not limited to cases where:

  • The requested service would require us to violate any law or regulation
  • The client provides false, misleading, or incomplete information
  • The engagement presents an unreasonable safety risk to our personnel
  • A conflict of interest exists or may arise
  • The requested service falls outside our licensed capabilities

4. Fees & Payment

Fees for services are outlined in individual service agreements. General fee structures include:

  • Notary services: Per-notarization fee as permitted by Georgia statute
  • Signing agent services: Per-signing fee as negotiated with signing services or direct clients
  • Process serving: Per-serve fee based on standard, rush, or skip-serve classification
  • Bail recovery: Percentage of bond face value as agreed with employing bondsman
  • Private investigation: Hourly rate plus expenses, or flat-rate per case type
  • Bail bonds: Premium as permitted by Georgia law (up to 15% of bond face value in Fulton County; 10% standard elsewhere)

Payment terms are net upon receipt unless otherwise specified. We accept cash, check, money order, and electronic payment methods. A service fee may apply to credit card transactions. Returned checks are subject to a $35 returned payment fee plus any bank charges incurred.

5. No Legal Advice

Steelcrest Investigations LLC does not provide legal advice. Nothing on our website, in our communications, or during the course of service delivery constitutes legal advice. We are not attorneys and do not represent ourselves as such. If you require legal counsel, we recommend consulting a licensed attorney.

Our notary services are limited to acts authorized under Georgia notary law. A notary public is not authorized to provide legal advice, prepare legal documents, or counsel individuals on legal matters.

6. Confidentiality

All client information, case details, and investigative findings are treated as strictly confidential. We do not disclose client identities or case information to third parties except:

  • As required by law, court order, or subpoena
  • As necessary to perform the contracted service (e.g., sheriff notification for bail recovery)
  • With the client's written authorization
  • To our attorneys, insurers, or accountants as needed for business operations

All personnel and contractors are bound by confidentiality agreements. Client files are maintained in secure, access-controlled systems.

7. Limitation of Liability

Steelcrest Investigations LLC maintains general liability insurance and errors & omissions (E&O) insurance. However, our total liability to any client for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total fees paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for:

  • Outcomes of legal proceedings regardless of evidence or information we provide
  • Actions of third parties including defendants, respondents, courts, or opposing parties
  • Inability to locate or serve individuals who actively evade service or apprehension
  • Decisions made by clients based on investigative findings
  • Delays caused by courts, government agencies, or circumstances beyond our control
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind

8. Use of Body Cameras & Recording

Steelcrest personnel may use body-worn cameras and recording equipment during field operations for documentation, evidence preservation, and liability protection. Georgia is a one-party consent state under O.C.G.A. § 16-11-66, which permits recording of conversations to which our personnel are a party without notice to or consent of other participants.

Body camera footage and field recordings are maintained as part of case files and are subject to the same confidentiality protections as all client information.

9. Independent Contractor Relationships

Field agents and service providers operating under Steelcrest Investigations LLC may be engaged as independent contractors (1099). The engagement of independent contractors does not create an employer-employee relationship. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.
